Truth about Islam

THE TRUTH ABOUT ISLAM”
From a barbaric Bronze Age text known as The Old Testament, three
anti-human religions have evolved— Judaism, Christianity and Islam.
These are sky-God religions. They are, literally, patriarchal—God is
Omnipotent Father—hence the loathing of women for 2000 years in those
countries afflicted by the sky-god and his earthly male delegates. The
sky-God is a jealous God, of course. He requires total obedience from
everyone on earth, as he is not just in place for one tribe, but for
all creation. Those who would reject him must be converted or be killed
for their own good. Ultimately, totalitarianism is the only sort of
politics that can truly serve the sky-God’s purpose. Any movement of a
liberal nature endangers his authority and those of his delegates on
earth. One God, one king, one Pope, one master in the factory, one
father-leader in the family at home. “
These words of Gore Vidal, a well-known American author and critic,
though politically incorrect, contain the quintessence of truth about
the Semitic religions, as all of these religions, though outwardly
different, have the same origin. However, with the passage of time and
under the impact of science, the ferocity of Judaism and Christianity
has mellowed down. Besieged by the Muslim states, the Jews in Israel
are fighting for their very survival, and they no longer dream of
imposing their faith upon others. Similarly, most of the people living
in Europe and USA are Christians only in name, but in their daily life,
they no longer follow the the tenets of Christianity as tenaciously as
their ancestors used to do in the Medieval Age.
However, the case is different with Islam. The development of science
seems to have little impact on an average Muslim and they are as
fanatical today as they were 1400 years ago when the Prophet claimed
to have received the message of Allah. They are ready to kill and be
killed in accordance with the teachings of the Quran 9:111 ” God has
verily bought the souls and possessions of the faithful in exchange for
a promise of Paradise. They fight in the cause of Allah, and kill and
are killed.” Even though, with the advancement of science, Muslim
society, like other societies, has undergone a sea-change in their
physical environment, yet their thinking is still rooted in the seventh
century tribal culture of Arabia. Of course, there are Muslims who have
revolted against the teachings of Islam, but their number is still
small and they have not made a visible impact on Muslim society at
large. On the whole, Muslim society has failed to adapt itself to the
scientific, liberal and secular thinking of the West, and that is one
of the main causes of their animosity towards the West and its culture.
Instead of doing a sincere self-appraisal and looking into the causes
of their backardness, they hold the non-Muslims responsible for all the
ills afflicting their society and have developed a sense of victimhood.
But the pity is that self-analysis and self-appraisal are taboo in
Islam.
Islam does not allow a critical appreciation of its ideaology, however
sincere it may be. Any unfavourable reference to its ideaology is
anathema to Islam and invites the wrath of the Muslim states and the
bearded mullahs. Most of the Islamic states have enacted blasphemy laws
to gag the voice of dissent. No sale, distribution and free discussion
of the scriptures of other religions is allowed in Islamic states,
because the mullahs are afraid that by allowing that they would expose
the Muslims to new ideas which would ultimately lead them to compare
Islam with other religions and invariably to the criticism of Islam.
However, when the intelligent citizens of these fanatical Muslim states
get a chance to visit the USA and countries of western Europe, they are
simply stunned to find the freedom of expression that the citizens of
those countries enjoy. When they see the liberal atmosphere of the
Western societies with their own eyes, they feel ashamed of the
suffocating atmosphere prevailing back in their own countries. But the
reaction of all such Muslims to this new experience is not of a uniform
nature.
While the reaction of some of them is so violent that they leave Islam
and denounce it in unequivocal terms, blaming all the ills of their
societies on it, there are others who try to present a sanitized
version of Islam to the world, hiding its numerous black spots and
highlighting the few bright aspects. In the face of the mounting
criticism of Islam by the research scholars of the West and the
ex-Muslims and finding themselves unable to rebut that criticism, these
apologists of Islam have one staple argument to offer, and that is that
Islam has been misinterpreted by the Western scholars. But the facts
speak otherwise. The apologists distort the meaning of the text to
present a rosy picture of Islam. They resort to lying and denials. Let
us take the concept of Jihad. To wage jihad against the non-Muslims in
order to bring them to the path of Allah is one of the basic tenets of
Islam. The eminent Muslim scholar and former Head of Al-Azhar Fatwa
Commitee says:- ” In Islamic Shari’ah, Jihad in the cause of Allah
means fighting in order to make the Word of Allah most high, and the
means for doing so is taking up arms in addition to preparation,
financing and planning strategies….” But the apologists would have
you believe that Jihad refers to inner struggle and has nothing to do
with violence. When Osama Bin Laden and his ilk call upon the Muslims
to wage jihad against the USA or when Islamists of Kashmir ask the
Muslims of the valley to wage jihad against India, do they mean to ask
the Muslims to engage in inner struggle against the USA or India ? How
ridiculous ?
Then we are told that Osama Bin Laden and others have hijacked Islam
and given it a bad name. If it is really so, has any Muslim scholar
worth the name denounced Osama for this act of blasphemy and issued a
fatwa against him ? Have the Muslim crowds ever protested against him,
while they take to streets even on frivolous issues ? The answer is a
big NO and that exposes the hypocrisy of these apologists who in the
heart of their hearts know that Osama is a true Muslim and is following
the teachings of Islam. Still, an average person, both Muslim and
non-Muslim, is taken in by their propaganda, as they have perfected the
art of lying. Instead of answering the criticism point to point, they
shout in chorus and try to drown the voice of dissent.
It is a pity that we Indians, even after a first-hand experience of
Islam in action for more than a millenium, are still ignorant of the
real nature of Islam. We have failed to see what a 13th century
Venetian merchant and traveller, Marco Polo, who was not a research
scholar but a keen observer of men and manners, was able to see during
his travels. In his famous travelogue, he writes about the Muslims of
Tauris (modern day Iraq) :- “According to their doctrine, whatever is
stolen or plundered from others of a different faith, is properly
taken, and the theft is no crime; whilst those who suffer death or
injury by the hands of Christians, are considered as martyrs. If,
therefore, they were not prohibited and restrained by the powers who
now govern them, they would commit many outrages. These principles are
common to all Saracens.”(Page 63). No body can accuse him of being
biased against non-Christians, because in the same book, he hails the
Brahmins of India, as being “most honourable”, possessing a “hatred for
cheating or of taking goods of other persons. They are likewise
remarkable for the virtue of being satisfied with the possession of one
wife.”(Page 298). Even most of those Indians who have read the
scriptures of Islam and who understand that Islam is not a religion in
the sense this term is used in India, but a socio-political system which
originated in the semi-nomadic tribal society of the 7th century
deserts of Arabia, do not speak up. Either they are afraid of the
Islamists or they want to be politically correct.
However, a number of ex-Muslim scholars led by Dr. Ali Sina, a Muslim
of Iranian origin, have taken up the task of spreading awareness about
Islam among Muslims. They want to encourage an analytical study of the
philosophy and tenets of Islam. Born as Muslims and brought up in
Muslim families, they have a profound knowledge of Islam and its
practices, which it is quite difficult for non-Muslims to have.
Moreover, they are deeply interested in reforming Islam and changing it
in tune with the modern age of science. But they were inhibited in
their efforts by the Islamic states and fanatical mullahs, because they
could not express their views critical of Islam freely in their
countries, without inviting the wrath of Islamists. As a result, many
of these free thinkers left their countries of origin and settled in
the West where they have lesser degree of threat to their
lives—notable among them being Dr. Ali Sina from Iran, Ibn Warraq
from Pakistan, Abul Kasem from Bangladesh and M.A.Khan from
India.Fortunately for them and for all of us, internet has now come to
their rescue by means of which they can spread their views in every
nook and corner of the planet earth. They have started their own sites,
through which they express their views and opinions and subject Islam
to analytical scrutiny. Their sites also provide a large number of
online books which can be downloaded free of charge. Our purpose also
is to encourage open discussion and unbiased examination of Islam, its
philosophy and its beliefs. We,too, want every human being to be
broad-minded and to have a liberal outlook, so that this world becomes
a better place to live in.

Who the hell cares?

India, one of the oldest civilizations of the world derives its name from Indus, on whose banks once flourished the Indus Valley Civilization. Indus in fact is a Greek distortion of the word Sindhu. When Arabic or the Islamic invaders started their invasions from North-Western borders of United India, they mispronounced Sindhu as Hindu and thus words Hindu, Hindukush and Hindustan came into being. We Indians, in fact, owe our entire cultural being to Sindhu.

But one thousand years of slavery have shackled not just our Sindhu but our memory of Sindhu too. That is why we have learnt to live without thinking. We have got used to the idea of a shrunken and shrinking India. We can now think of India without North-West Frontier Province, without Western Punjab, without Sindh, without East Bengal and we are more than willing to do the same without Kashmir, without Assam and without other parts in the future.

With the dawn of independence on 15th August 1947, United India was bifurcated into Hindu India and Muslim Pakistan, which had two states of Eastern Pakistan and Western Pakistan, which in their own term split into Bangladesh and Pakistan. But even after 58 years of partition we Indians remain confused and even unconcerned. We have been a poor student of history so we have also neglected its lessons. We are failing to read properly the forces that have been and are still at work to keep India down. In fact we do not even acknowledge them. All this because it involves doing nothing, anticipating nothing, planning nothing and we can continue to live from day to day. A realistic approach to our history will impose on us duties of a different kind and scope, which therefore we must shirk just as a pigeon closes its eyes to a cat in front of it.

Result of all this poor sense of history is terrorism of various shapes and shades in various parts of truncated India, attack on parliament of India , Kashmir , Assam and naxalism in various states along with rabbit like breeding over population.
Muslim fear of domination by Hindus and Hindu fear psychosis of domination by Muslims results not into some meaningful dialogue but stress on over population of Hindu India and Muslim India by Vishwa Hindu Parishad on one side and Fatwa wielding Mullahs on the other side, both sides ignoring tenets of modern science and fruits of science and technology in day to day living and raising the standard of living of our more than 60 percent population living below poverty line without bread, without health, without proper housing, without drinking water and without education.

Independence also brought about one of the biggest exodus and mass migration in world history when more than one million Indians were massacred and more than seven million people lost their age old hearths and homes, their temples and their fertile lands in the West Punjab, the North-West Frontier Province, Sindh and parts of Kashmir and the accompanying atrocities of the period, the carnage, the killings, the abductions and the forced conversions. But soon after we forgot all these gory details. Within a year, in 1948 Lt. Gen Kulwant Singh of the Indian army saved 2/5th of Kashmir for us but today no body in India even knows his name, leave aside having seen his portrait or a photograph.

In 1965 Lt. Gen Harbakhash Singh as chief of Western Command saved Amritsar and its Golden Temple, Sanctum Sanctorum of the Sikh people in particular and North-Western Indians in general. But we just know and practice only one dictum: Generals fade way in history.

In 1971 Lt. Gen Jagjit Singh Aurora as Chief of Eastern Command led India to unprecedented glory and split Pakistan into Bangladesh and Western Pakistan. But his recent death in Delhi demands no notes from apathetic public or unscrupulous political class. A close scrutiny of recent military history will reveal that a close associate of Gen. Aurora, Maj Gen. Shahbeg Singh who personally lead Mukti Bahini of Bangladesh to victory as his duty as a Brigadier of the Indian army, was discharged of the army one day prior to his retirement without pension, invoking a clause that had not been used in past 150 years of British India or independent India. His inglorious end came at Sri Akal Takht Sahib in Golden Temple complex along with Jarnail Singh Bhindrawale in 1984 where the dashing General fought against the same army that had nurtured and produced him.

Only 2 percent of Indians that is the Sikhs recite everyday in their prayer " Hey, Akal Purkh, Apne Panth De Sada Sahaie Datar Jeo! Sri Nankana Sahib Ate Hor Gurudwareyan, Gurdhama De, Jinha Ton Panth Nu Vichhoreya Giya Hai, Khule DArshan Deedar Te Sewa Sambhal Da Daan Khalso Ji Nu Bakhsho" (Oh God, You always help your Panth. Kindly bestow upon Your Khalsa unrestricted glimpses and services of Sri Nankana Sahib and other Gurudwaras and Gurdhams/Holy Places from which Panth has been separated).

It clearly has only one meaning that out of 100 crores only two crores still regard Sindhu Land as their own. 98 percent Indians have lost memory of their civilizational cradle.

Only 2 percent people produce Kulwant Singh, Harbakhash Singh, Shahbeg Singh, Jagjit Singh Aurora , Master Tara Singh or Partap Singh Kairon. But these 2 percent best Indians or rather 'Best Hindus' always feel neglected in our national life.

Even with a Sikh Prime Minister, the Sikhs cannot dream of winning back their Sindhu, their Lahore, capital of erstwhile Sikh Kingdom of Maharaja Ranjit Singh, Tomb of their legendry tiger General Hari Singh Nalwa at Jamraud on the frontier of Afghanistan, their Nankana Sahib, birth place of Guru Nanak Dev, the first Sikh Guru, their Panja Sahib, their Pakistan occupied Kashmir. It maybe mentioned here that Gen Nalwa recaptured Kashmir after one thousand years from Islamic imperialists. This all happens not because one Manmohan Singh, one Khushwant Singh or one Gen J J Singh have forgotten their villages in Pakistan occupied Indian Land but because our pygmy leaders of Congress or of BJP, whether 'secular' Sonia Gandhi or Jinnahphile L K Advani, have lost their sense of history, not just of modern India but also one of its glorious phase written by the blood of Guru Arjan Dev, the fifth Sikh Guru, Guru Hargobind Sahib, the sixth Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Sikh Guru, Gen Banda Singh Bahadur, Gen Baghel Singh of Chabal, Gen Jassa Singh Ramgarhia, Sikh Lion of Lahore Maharaja Ranjit Singh and his beloved general Hari Singh Nalwa and Gen Zorawar Singh.

Even today missiles launched in 'Pakistan occupied India' are christened 'Ghauri' (Mohammed Ghauri), 'Ghazanavi'(Mehmud of Ghazni attacked India 16 times), 'Abdali" (Ahmed Shah Abdali), but we Indians are masters in naming major roads in most major cities after the bigot, Hindu hating Muslim Kings such as Shah Jahan, Aurengzeb, Sher Shah Suri, etc.

Not contented with this forgetfulness, our Defence Minister Jaswant Singh himself leads Jaish-e-Mohammed chief Masood Azhar to Kandhar during the Taliban regime in Kabul.

Another Defence Minister George Fernandes is stripped naked twice in United States in 2003 in the garb of security check, , but he chooses to keep mum there, only to come back and shriek against American Multi Nationals on Indian soil. Also, Babu Lal Gaur, Ex-Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh along with his team of bureaucrats was humiliated in USA without an iota of protest. 80 years of RSS labours produce Shri L K Advani, who pays homage to 'secular' Jinnah, 'the great leader of history', forgetting all teachings of RSS 'Shakhas.

So, a Manmohan Singh in the Prime Ministers' office has little meaning if they have no mandate for getting their historical homeland in 'Pakistan occupied India' back to the Indian or the Sindhu fold. That is why I call Empowerment of India as 'Regaining of our Sindhu. First rekindle memory of Sindhu, and then produce a Hari Singh Nalwa to recapture Sindhu. Only then you have a right to call yourself a Hindu, an Indian or an Indian aspiring for an Empowered India.

No single party or any leader in India dares to touch the issue of population. Thomas Malthus is proving right in Sub Saharan Africa and is going to prove right in Indian sub continent (United India) in the coming few years.
Doyen of Indian industry J R D Tata cautioned Pandit Nehru against rapidly burgeoning population, but 58 years after Independence, we are still clinging to ' Jeh, population is our strength' theory.

All this happens because we have low self esteem, lack of confidence, lack of vision, because we have lost the 'power of thinking'. Long back Sri Aurobindo saw 'root cause of India's weakness' not in foreign yolk or poverty or dearth of spiritual experience, but in the 'decline of thinking power'. Everywhere he saw 'inability or unwillingness to think, which is a sign of tragic decadence'.

To break these shackles of mental slavery, every Indian should embrace and lead in their practical lives, a message of Indian nationhood as enshrined in our Vedas. Only then India will shine and India will be empowered and regain its position as 'Jagad Guru' in UNO and comity of nations.
This blogpost is in reply to Anurag Kumar's blog 'Capitalim' http://lucknowmylucknow.blogspot.com/2010/04/capitalism.html. My earlier post was perceived to be a personal attack by Anurag Ji, but I hope this version gets his approval.

I agree in contemporary India money has become paramount, but what is wrong with that? Since time immemorial India has been subjected to paucity's of all kind. Scarcity of resources, scarcity of governance, scarcity of simple things that make life more comfortable, scarcity of free trade, scarcity of opportunities to do well without the help of any kind of government interference, scarcity of ideas that push the humans beyond the limits that they were taught exist. I mean scarcity of everything & anything in the society.

This thinking has made us Indians forever intellectually malnourished. Our thinking process has been arrested & very rarely will you come across an Indian who breaks free & pursues his beliefs to attain successful heights in India. Happens all the time for Indians going abroad to pursue their dreams because India would never have allowed their intellectual prowess to bear fruit because of decadent, barbaric & defeatist/protectionist social/educational norms.

You must bear in mind that India is a very young precocious democracy. It took more than two centuries for Great Britain & USA to evolve. Their plight during the early days of their new found freedom was far worse than what India has witnessed till date. The progress made by India after 1947 is astounding, but we don’t see that because the overpopulation & retrograde government policies eclipse it. We were following a socialistic form of economic democracy till 1991. NAM, Cold War, protectionist politics were responsible for that. Other reasons were also responsible but I don’t want to dwell into those at the moment.

A person/ company who made a lot of money & who is in a position to smother competition by might of their monetary accomplishments should be discarded? I don’t think so. Barring a handful few ‘Old business Houses’ who became super rich during the British Raj because of their ability to accommodate & facilitate the sinister British agenda against the indigenous forces, most of the contemporary individuals/companies doing well have done so due to their merit & no doubt with some connivance with the government (land acquisition et al). But then the States who accommodated these successful firms desperately needed the investment. I agree, right now money is might, but have patience, things will change for the better. Days when money is not paramount are not very far off. I can assure you of that.

The point you mentioned about gun running, pimping, etc is valid. I don’t approve of money ill gotten. But then that is for the other arms of government (revenue, tax, etc) to handle. I am not going to discuss the ‘Tax Net ‘issue here. Later may be. Believe you me, Free market, Open competition, Profit Motive are not a part of bad terminology. They could be life saviours for India. If in some movie a university student becomes a nude model to pay her tuition fee, how does that make capitalism deplorable? Just goes to show that there is no ‘Free Lunch’ in rest of the world other than India. In India, due to the reservation demon, free lunches are galore & the ‘grub consumed’ is not even worth writing home about. The university student could have chosen a tougher path to earn the tuition fee, but then that was her choice & India had not role to play in that.

Now about the friendly neighborhood karyana store. I have read quite a number of studies published in regard to MNC’s like Wal-Mart et al affecting the livelihood of these ever smiling service providers & all the studies have proved that the corner karyana store will not be affected at all. One can see all the so called big stores of Indian origin in our markets. I don’t think that they have had any impact on the karyana store that offers ‘home delivery’ to the local residents. Atta, dal, sauce, eggs, bread etc are just a phone call away & you might agree with me, in the days of paucity of time, the local karyana store will always score over the MNC mall any day.

Journalism that is based on expedience rather than moral grounds is a source of agony for all aware, concerned Indians. Since I am not from that stream, I will restrict my comments to a certain extent. All I have to say is that in an evolving, vibrant, brash, callous, insensitive society such as ours’, the corruption that ails all other arms of the society will definitely percolate down to the main stream media too. Content is bound to change. In these days of deadlines, extreme job pressure, who in his/her right mind would be interested in an interview that involves a graveyard worker? Majority of the journalists are employees with some media house & you would have to agree with me that one cannot run a media house (News paper/TV Channel) on a charitable basis. Everybody has to feed their family. So, profit oriented media coverage is but natural. Of course the journalists are not at a liberty to report anything they want. They are bound by some guidelines by their employers. If they don’t like that then leave they should leave their job. You can’t have your cake & eat it too. Only thing is that blatant ‘cash for news’ has to be condemned and nipped in the bud. It might have short term gains for some parts of the society, but in the long run this kind of corruption will not augur well for the Nation.

About the sudden explosion of sex on our breakfast & dining tables. Well what do u expect? In a country of Kamasutra, sex engravings in Indian Hindu Temples, etc, why be a hypocrite? I agree the sex sleaze on display in MSM is not what ancient India was all about, but the contemporary Indian society is evolving & you must keep in mind that it is easier to emulate shallow, easier & sexually promiscuous behavior. This kind of behavior is far more easier to adhere to than the other more socially responsible options. Socially correct behaviour is rather more difficult to follow, you will agree to this. We are one of the most over populated Nations in the world & find discussion on sex despicable. But this too shall pass.

I am treading onto untested waters now. I have absolutely no knowledge about the functioning of the film industry. This is the age of awareness. The eyes won’t see what the mind does not know. So, the mega advertisements. On the other hand, have you ever wondered how much employment these advertisement blitzkriegs generate? That is showbiz for you, the more people involved, the better. There is definitely a niche for non-mainstream cinema. If someone makes that kind of cinema that is good enough to appeal to that targeted population, so be it, best of luck to them. It is your own free will to not watch Hindi cinema, but I can assure you a great number do really enjoy these forms of visual entertainment & I am amongst them too!

Again I am treading on unknown waters. I have to agree with you that MSM has degenerated into some kind of a genetic mutation that is beyond repair. But then one must understand that the MSM deliver what the general population wants to devour. If the people like sex & sleaze on TV, so be it. Contemporary MSM is profit driven hence whatever will spiral their ratings skywards will be broad casted. Like they say, the people get the government they deserve. So I say, people get the MSM they deserve, because MSM will never pursue issues that the general public is not craving for. In these unfortunate contemporary times, if serials, sex, scandals etc are the need of the hour, MSM will deliver these only. In another period of time when the evolved democracy is hungry for relevant socio-political issues, MSM will deliver that. It is just a matter of demand & supplies my friend. Don’t forget MSM is part of the society & it will strive to fulfill the needs of the society in its current avatar.

Companies like Bharti Airtel, Idea, Reliance Telecom came up on their own (People like A Raja not discounted). If their advertisements on MSM generate business, then what is wrong in that? And why should not MSM profit from that fact?

About the ‘Reality TV Shows’. Again I beg to bring to your notice that I am totally ignorant about their modus operandi. But these reality TV shows are popular all over the world. Why blame the people if they sms @ Rs 6/min just so that their fantasy man/woman wins a contest? Again all the money being spent is contributing to the GDP of the Nation. Money in circulation is always more profitable than money in the bank!

Now to the MBA part. If students want to pursue the course, who is there to stop them & why should anybody stop them? If someone is contributing to generating money in a Nation, should he be branded as a person with criminal intent? I don’t think so. A choice of career is totally relative. Democracy in India at least gives us the privilege to choose a career that suits us both mentally & physically.

I am aghast that your line of thought opposes both the parents to be working! Whom do you suppose should stay at home & bring up children in the ‘traditional’ manner? Father or Mother? Don’t tell me the mother should stay home to bring up the kids, because that will prove that you are biased & are in a favour of tradition taking precedence over the well being of the average Indian family. Majority of Indian households would not be the same economically if one of the parents were not working. Demands of the current times demand that both work & it is actually healthy for the whole family. I also don’t agree with your idea that all children are ignored by parents in pursuit of their worldly goals. Both me & my wife are working & I can assure you that my children are probably one of the most happiest kids in India.

Club culture in India is the legacy of the British Raj. If clubs are used in a positive & a restrained manner, they can prove to be quite handy. I don’t approve of clubs being second homes for some, but they do have their own positives if they are used in a judicious manner. In fact many sports clubs are a boon to our country, producing many a champion to enhance India’s glory in the international arena. Golf Clubs are the prime example.

What do you mean by an advanced society? You mean advanced in materialistic things or advanced intellectually or socially? I agree environmental pollution et al are the result of rapid unplanned industrialization/ over population in the world. But what do you expect? Should we shut shop? Close all industrial units, manufacturing units etc so that environment can be saved? No, that is not the solution of the problem that lies elsewhere in the first place. We cannot arrest industrialization/advancement just so that the environment is being affected. What we need to do is to find different sources of energy that feed our industrialization & energy demands so that we can make rapid progress & also not tax Mother Earth at the same time. Just because progress has a negative aspect, we cannot abandon that path, instead we have to be even more resilient & steadfast to find new ways to produce energy that is easy/cheap to produce & also keeps the environment clean.

Why is that God, Religion & Philosophy have failed to end India’s woes of widespread hunger, illiteracy, intolerance, superstition etc? Do you think these will prove to be a force enough to counter all the ills facing India? Or do you think rapid progress, efficient government scheme delivery systems et al will be able to overcome them? Why do you want India to be scarcity galore? Why do you want India to be found wanting in all aspects just so that capitalism can be defeated? Capitalism is not bad, its execution may be. India needs a lot more capitalism right now to take it forward. For once, let merit prevail, let market forces prevail, let the demand & supplies curve play out its full course, let us get out of the vicious cycle of scarcity in every field, let the nouveau rich Indians splurge & live out their dream. For once let the Indians earn more & spend more, let the money be circulated, let there be generation of employment, let there be competition & let the cash rich Indians exploit that competition to acquire the finest there is. Why not? For long we have been shackled by the Nehruvian Socialism, let us enjoy the spoils while the party lasts.
